Diners Club Partnering With MasterCard

MasterCard has launched a new partnership with Diners Club in Australia. Youll get both a MasterCard and Diners Club Charge Card with your account, meaning you can make the most of the worldwide acceptance that comes with MasterCard and the benefits of a Diners Club card. Once you see the benefits and perks on offer youll agree this is a partnership that is worth looking into.

With executives wanting to expand the market share, this new plan to join forces with Diners Club seems like a good one. In May 2012, MasterCard announced that they would introduce a product that still allowed you to have two cards in one account but would be competitive with existing debit cards.

All merchants around the globe have fully accepted this collaboration between the two entities, and Diners Club is anxious to have the increased exposure.

If you were thinking about signing up for a credit card with a 60% interest rate, you’re out of luck. First Premier has a note on its website saying the First Premier Gold MasterCard, one of the worst credit cards, is currently unavailable. Instead, if you want to apply for a credit card from the card issuer, you’d have to settle for the just as terrible, First Premier Secured MasterCard. CNN Money reports that the “popular” credit card has “reached its issuing limit for the month.”

The First Premier MasterCard first gained notoriety for its 79.9% APR. Even though the bank lowered the card’s rate to 59.9%, it still remained at the top of worst credit card lists. Despite the astronomically high interest rate, more than 300,000 people were actively using the First Premier Gold MasterCard, according to CNN Money.

So people are actually applying for a credit card with a 60% interest rate, $300 credit limit, $75 annual fee/processing fee, and 25% credit limit increase fee.
